AGEs cause inflammations
糖化ストレス研究会に参加しました。「糖化ストレス」は同志社大学の米井先生が提唱した造語で、AGEが引き起こす炎症を意味します。近年、アルツハイマーとの関連が指摘されています。
愛媛大の伊賀瀬先生が、AGEリーダーでの認知症予防を説いていました。認知症による社会的損失は患者ひとりあたり年間1414万円です。AGE測定でそのコストを減らすことができます。
I attended the Glycation Stress study group. Glycation stress means inflammation caused by AGEs. The concept and name were proposed by Dr. Yonei, Doshisha University. Glycation stress relates to Alzheimer’s.
One of the speakers was Dr. Igase of Ehime University. He proposed the prevention by using AGE reader. The social cost of Alzheimer’s is 14,140,000 JPY/year/patient. AGE measurement can save the cost.
